Sometimes the path you’re meant to walk begins with something you barely understand. My spiritual healing journey didn’t begin with a grand revelation or an intentional decision to become a spiritual practitioner. It began with curiosity. What started as an interest in astrology eventually opened the door to chakras, energy healing, Reiki, Galactic Akashic Records, and a spiritual awakening that would change the direction of my life.
If someone had told me back in 2021 that I would eventually become a Reiki Master Practitioner, explore energy systems, and incorporate several spiritual modalities into my work, I probably would have questioned how they arrived at that conclusion. At the time, I was simply interested in learning more about astrology. I enjoyed studying birth charts, planetary placements, and the connections between our lives and the cosmos. I wanted to understand the deeper patterns behind our experiences, our personal development, and the different chapters of our lives. I had no idea that astrology would become the starting point for something much bigger.
The Galactic Akashic Reading I Almost Dismissed
In 2021, I received a Galactic Akashic Records reading. One of the recurring themes throughout my reading was that I had been a healer in past lives. Not just a healer, but something described as a blueprint originator. Now, imagine hearing that when you’re still trying to understand your relationship with astrology and have barely begun exploring the world of energy healing.
Honestly, I thought the whole thing was nonsense. I didn’t know what to make of it, and I certainly wasn’t ready to identify with the idea of being a healer. So, I did what seemed reasonable at the time. I put that information aside and continued studying astrology. I wasn’t interested in chasing an identity or trying to make something fit simply because someone had mentioned it during a reading.
Looking back, I find it interesting that the same theme would eventually resurface through my experiences. I don’t believe every piece of spiritual information needs to be accepted immediately. Sometimes we encounter ideas that require time, personal experience, and reflection before we can understand what they mean to us. That Galactic Akashic reading was one of those moments. I didn’t understand its significance at the time, but it became an interesting part of the larger story of my spiritual awakening.
The Book That Changed My Perspective on Energy
My curiosity about chakras eventually led me to a book that would become an important turning point in my journey. I was gifted #ad The Ultimate Guide to Chakras and Energy Systems by Cyndi Dale. I had heard about chakras before, but I had no idea how extensive the subject was or how much there was to learn about our energetic systems until I started reading.
The book introduced me to a much broader understanding of the chakra system and the ways energy centers are traditionally associated with our physical experiences, emotional patterns, personal development, and spiritual awareness. Suddenly, chakras weren’t just something people mentioned during conversations about meditation or spirituality. There was an entire system to explore, study, and understand.
I became increasingly interested in how our energy centers relate to our experiences and how becoming more conscious of them could contribute to our personal and spiritual development. This curiosity eventually led me to Reiki. What began as an interest in understanding energy developed into a decision to pursue Reiki training and ultimately become a Reiki Master Practitioner. I had gone from casually exploring astrology and chakras to actively studying energy healing. The path was unfolding in ways I never anticipated.
Reiki: Discovering the Role of a Conduit for Healing
Reiki introduced me to a different relationship with healing. Rather than approaching healing as something I needed to make happen, I began understanding the role of the practitioner as a conduit through which Reiki energy is offered. That distinction became important to me because being a healer doesn’t mean having all the answers, fixing everyone else’s problems, or claiming to know what another person needs.
For me, being a practitioner means creating space for someone to explore their own healing experience. Reiki became another way to understand the relationship between energy, intention, awareness, and spiritual development. It also encouraged me to look beyond the physical aspects of healing and consider the energetic and spiritual dimensions of our experiences.
Interestingly enough, that earlier Galactic Akashic reading started to look a little less random. The healer theme had resurfaced in a very unexpected way. I wasn’t trying to become the person described in that reading. I was simply following my curiosity, pursuing education, and allowing my experiences to guide what I wanted to explore next.
Finding Unity Through the Spiritual Healing Community
As my interest in energy healing grew, I also began exploring communities where I could learn, connect, and exchange ideas with other spiritual practitioners. One of those spaces was The Spiritual Healers community at thespiritualhealers.com. What interested me about this community was the opportunity to explore healing through a broader perspective and recognize the importance of unity.
Spiritual healing can sometimes feel like a collection of separate practices. Astrology, Reiki, chakra work, energy healing, meditation, and other spiritual modalities may appear to operate independently. However, I find it meaningful to recognize the common thread connecting them: the exploration of our relationship with ourselves, our energy, and something greater than our individual experiences.
Unity doesn’t mean everyone practices the same modality or believes exactly the same things. It means recognizing that different approaches can coexist, that we can learn from one another, and that spiritual development doesn’t have to be a competition. There is room for different perspectives, different experiences, and different pathways toward understanding. This openness is something I value as I continue developing my own spiritual practice.
Exploring the Connection Between Astrology and the Seven Chakras
As someone who studies both Vedic and Western astrology, it was only natural that I would eventually begin looking at the chakra system through an astrological lens. I became interested in exploring the symbolic relationships between the zodiac signs and the energetic themes associated with each chakra. While there isn’t one universally accepted system assigning zodiac signs to the seven chakras, I find that certain astrological archetypes offer fascinating ways to explore their symbolism.
The Root Chakra, traditionally known as Muladhara, represents our foundation, stability, security, grounding, and connection to the physical world. I associate Capricorn with this energy because of its relationship with structure, responsibility, discipline, and building something that can withstand the test of time. Traditionally ruled by Saturn, Capricorn understands that a stable foundation requires patience, boundaries, and consistent effort. The Root Chakra asks us to consider whether we feel grounded and supported in our lives, while Capricorn reminds us of the importance of creating a foundation that can sustain us.
The Sacral Chakra, or Svadhisthana, is associated with emotional expression, creativity, pleasure, intimacy, and our relationship with desire. I connect this chakra with both Cancer and Scorpio because these signs explore different dimensions of our emotional experiences. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, represents nurturing, sensitivity, emotional connection, and our need to feel safe enough to express ourselves. Scorpio takes us deeper into the emotional landscape through transformation, intimacy, vulnerability, and the exploration of what lies beneath the surface. Together, Cancer and Scorpio offer an interesting perspective on emotional awareness. Cancer asks where we feel emotionally safe, while Scorpio encourages us to examine what we are ready to transform or understand more deeply.
The Solar Plexus Chakra, known as Manipura, represents personal power, confidence, motivation, identity, and our ability to take action. I associate this chakra with Leo, the zodiac sign ruled by the Sun. Leo represents vitality, individuality, creative expression, and the courage to occupy space in the world. Much like the Sun holds a central position in astrology, the Solar Plexus is associated with our sense of identity and personal empowerment. This connection invites us to explore how comfortably we express ourselves, whether we trust our abilities, and how we relate to our own authority. Personal power isn’t about dominating others; it’s about recognizing your own value without diminishing someone else’s.
The Heart Chakra, or Anahata, represents love, compassion, connection, forgiveness, and the ability to give and receive. I associate this energy center with Libra and Taurus, both traditionally ruled by Venus. Libra explores relationships, balance, cooperation, harmony, and the ways we relate to others. Taurus represents stability, self-worth, appreciation, sensuality, and our ability to recognize value within ourselves and our surroundings. Together, these signs offer two different perspectives on the heart. Libra explores how we love and relate to others, while Taurus reminds us of the importance of valuing ourselves. The Heart Chakra encourages us to recognize that love isn’t exclusively about what we give. It’s also about what we allow ourselves to receive.
The Throat Chakra, traditionally called Vishuddha, is associated with communication, authentic expression, listening, and the ability to articulate our thoughts. I connect this chakra with Gemini and Virgo because both signs are ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with communication, information, learning, and intellectual exchange. Gemini represents curiosity, conversation, information gathering, and the exchange of ideas. Virgo brings another dimension through analysis, discernment, organization, and attention to detail. Where Gemini gathers information, Virgo examines it. This relationship offers an interesting way to understand authentic communication. Speaking your truth requires more than having something to say. It also requires understanding what you’re communicating and expressing yourself with intention.
The Third Eye Chakra, or Ajna, is traditionally associated with intuition, insight, perception, and our ability to recognize patterns beyond immediate circumstances. I associate this chakra with Sagittarius and Capricorn because they offer two different approaches to wisdom and understanding. Sagittarius, traditionally ruled by Jupiter, represents philosophy, higher learning, spiritual exploration, and the search for meaning. Sagittarius wants to understand the bigger picture and asks questions about existence, belief systems, and the wisdom we gather through experience. Capricorn, traditionally ruled by Saturn, introduces discernment, structure, maturity, and the ability to put knowledge into perspective. If Sagittarius explores possibilities, Capricorn considers how that understanding can be applied in the physical world. Together, these signs symbolize the relationship between higher wisdom and grounded discernment. Intuition is valuable, but so is the ability to reflect, question, and develop our own understanding.
The Crown Chakra, traditionally called Sahasrara, is where I take a different approach. I don’t associate the Crown Chakra with a particular zodiac sign because, symbolically, it represents something that extends beyond the individual zodiac archetypes. The Crown Chakra is associated with universal consciousness, spiritual awareness, transcendence, and our connection to something greater than ourselves. The zodiac offers twelve archetypes through which we can explore different dimensions of human experience, but the Crown Chakra represents a movement beyond those individual expressions. It reaches beyond personal identity and the limitations of how we traditionally understand ourselves. For me, assigning it to one zodiac sign would limit the very symbolism it represents. The Crown Chakra isn’t about becoming one particular archetype. It’s about exploring our connection to the greater whole.
A Spiritual Awakening Is Rarely a Straight Line
When I look back at my spiritual healing journey, I can see how seemingly unrelated experiences gradually became connected. Astrology introduced me to the language of the planets and zodiac signs. The Galactic Akashic Records reading introduced the possibility of a much larger spiritual history. Cyndi Dale’s book opened the door to understanding energy systems. Reiki gave me an opportunity to explore energy work through practice, and spiritual communities introduced me to the importance of connection, shared learning, and unity.
Somewhere along the way, my curiosity developed into something much bigger. What I once dismissed as nonsense became something I wanted to explore more deeply. I began recognizing that my spiritual development wasn’t happening in isolation. Each experience was opening the door to another question, another area of study, or another opportunity for personal understanding.
My awakening wasn’t a single event. It was a process of discovery. I also learned that being a spiritual practitioner doesn’t mean you stop learning. In fact, the more you explore, the more you realize how much there is to understand. There isn’t one universal roadmap for spiritual awakening, and there isn’t a specific sequence of experiences everyone must follow. There certainly isn’t a requirement to fit into someone else’s definition of what being spiritual looks like.
Where Astrology, Energy Healing, and MysticaLiving Meet
Today, my work through MysticaLiving reflects the different parts of this journey. I bring together astrology, Reiki, energy work, and spiritual exploration because I believe these modalities can offer different perspectives on understanding ourselves and our experiences. Astrology helps us explore personal patterns, life chapters, planetary cycles, and the timing of significant transitions. Reiki offers an opportunity to experience energetic support and relaxation, while energy work encourages us to become more conscious of the relationship between our physical, emotional, and spiritual experiences.
I don’t approach this work as someone who has all the answers. I approach it as a practitioner, student, and conduit for healing who continues to learn along the way. My experiences have taught me that spiritual development is deeply personal. Your journey is your own, and you get to decide what resonates, what you want to explore, and what feels aligned with your experiences.
If there is one thing my spiritual awakening has taught me, it’s that sometimes the things we dismiss today become the very things that help us understand who we are tomorrow. I never set out to become the person I am today. I simply followed my curiosity, one discovery at a time.
And the journey is still unfolding.
