Mudras are hand gestures and positions used in the Hindu, Buddhist, and yoga traditions. Mudras serve several purposes. Some of these purposes involve a DEEPER SPIRTUAL CONNECTION pure souce. Promote HARMONY and WELL-BEING in the body. Mudras can help to manage STRESS and ANXIETY as well as stimulation and balancing the 7 main body’s energy centers called the CHAKRA’S.
Today we will focus on 7 Mudras that have been used to help balance the ROOT, SACRAL, SOLAR PLEXUS, HEART, THROAT, THIRD EYE and CROWN Chakra’s.
KEY THINGS PRIOR TO DOING MUDRAS
1. When performing each Mudra, sit in a comfortable and stable posture position swith your spine straight.
2. Look at each image and follow the instructions for hand, finger and gestures associated with each mudra.
3. Breathe naturally.
4. Hold the mudra for a few minutes at time. Take breaks if needed.
5. Visualize the desired outcome associated with each mudra.
6. After 15 to 30 minutes of meditation, release the mudra and take note of any physical change in the mind body and soul.
Balance The Chakras With Mudras
Root Chakra (Muladhara)
Steps to Perform the Yoni Mudra
Bring your hands in front of your chest, palms facing up. Interlace your fingers, leaving the index fingers and thumbs pointing outward. Create a triangle shape by touching the tips of your index fingers together and the tips of your thumbs together. Rest the triangle created by your index fingers and thumbs on your lap, with the base of the triangle near your navel.

Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
Steps to Perform the Brahma Mudra
Make a fist with both hands with the thumb wrapped in the fingers. Now hold the the palms facing skyward and both hands pressed together at the knuckles. The hands then gently rest against the pubic bone.

Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
Steps to Perform the Hakini Mudra
Bring your hands in front of your chest, fingertips touching each other. Spread your fingers wide, creating a temple shape. Focus your gaze on the tip of your nose or the space between your eyebrows.

Heart Chakra (Anahata)
Steps to Perform the Anjali Mudra
Meet your hands together by your heart in a “prayer position.”

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
Steps to Perform the Knot Mudra
Bring your hands together in front of your chest. Have your palms facing each other. Interlace your fingers, except for the index fingers, which point straight up.

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Steps to Perform the Apana Mudra
To perform the Apana Mudra, touch the tips of your middle and ring fingers to the tip of your thumb, while keeping the other two fingers extended.

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
Steps to Perform the Mudra of Thousand Petals
Touch your thumbs to each other and your index fingers to each other, and spreed your other figures out wide.
*** You can recite the Beej Mantra Silence (OM) 3× while performing the Mudra.
