On August 8th, many native Egyptians would celebrate, “Coming Forth of Sekhmet to Repel Set“. This day was considered auspicious for bringing you luck and protection. Later, “Coming Forth of Sekhmet to Repel Set”, became popularly known as the Lions Gate Portal.
What is the Lion’s Gate Portal?
The Lion’s Gate Portal is a modern spiritual concept that connects the astrological sign of Leo, the star Sirius (Sopdet), and the ancient Egyptian goddess Sekhmet. This concept draws from a combination of astrology, mythology, and numerology to create a powerful period for spiritual growth and manifestation.
(A) The Portal is believed to open every year on August 8th (8/8) and last until August 12th. This period is marked by the alignment of the Earth, the Sun in Leo, and the rising of Sirius.
(B) The number 8 is considered a symbol of infinity and balance, representing a time of heightened spiritual energy. Leo, a fire sign ruled by the Sun, is associated with strength, courage, and self-expression, aligning with the energies of empowerment and transformation.
(C) Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, rises during this period, coinciding with the Sun’s position in Leo. In ancient Egypt, the heliacal rising of Sirius signaled the annual flooding of the Nile and was associated with renewal and abundance. Sirius is considered a source of spiritual light and awakening, amplifying the energies present during the Lion’s Gate Portal.
Sekhmet shares a fair share of qualities with the the star Sirius, as well as the astrological sign of Leo. Features such as, the solar disk atop Sekhmet’s head emphasizes her connection to Ra, the sun god, highlighting her as a divine force of energy, light, and power. This imagery signifies her ability to both create and destroy, mirroring the life-giving and harsh aspects of the sun.
Despite her fierce nature, Sekhmet was also revered as a goddess of healing and medicine. This quality of healing abilities is often associated with Star Races from Sirius. Ancient Egyptians believed she had the power to ward off disease and provide protection from epidemics. Temples dedicated to her often served as centers of healing, where priests practiced medicine and invoked her protective energies.
According to some Galactic Historians: Sirius B is the star origin of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses like Isis and Sekhmet. Often through Akashic record channeling, some of the Egyptian starseeds were described as having amphibian or aquatic. They possessed advanced knowledge of healing and spirituality. These beings were considered teachers and healers, sharing their wisdom with other civilizations.
Celebrations and Rituals During the Lions Gate Portal
Many Egyptians feared Sekhmet wrath. In order to appease her, Ancient Egyptian priests would perform a sacred ceremony in front of 700 different Sekhmet statues each morning and afternoon.
During our current time, from August 8th through August 12th, we can honor Sekhmet during the Lion Gate Portal by:
♌Spend time learning about Sekhmet and her role in Egyptian mythology. Reading ancient texts or modern interpretations can deepen your connection to her energy.
♌Conduct a simple ritual to invoke Sekhmet’s presence. Light candles and incense, chant her name or use the sacral Hymn below to celebrate the opening of the Lions Gate Portal and Sekhmet.
Hymn of Sekhmet
In the heart of carnelian’s blaze,
Crimson as blood on sacred days,
I burn with fervor, fierce and true,
A seal of passion, ancient hue.I am the broken wax, unveiled,
On letters where deep love is detailed,
My power rages, fierce and grand,
In every desert, scorching sand.Through shadows of the burning sun,
My roar declares the battles won,
With wrath and healing intertwined,
A goddess with a lion’s mind.In sacred rites, I rise, I claim,
The strength of Sekhmet, fierce flame,
Beneath the stars’ celestial gaze,
I guide and guard through all life’s maze.
